I am having a strange problems on Windows 7 RC 64-bit.

When using Internet Explorer 8, about once an hour, IE8, Explorer.exe and basically the whole system becomes unresponsive. During this time Pagefile.sys is peaking at 100% hard drive use (CPU use hovers around 20-30%). After about 2-3 minutes, everything is back to normal.

At first I thought maybe Windows was resizing my page file, so I set that manually, but the problem still occurs.

FireFox does not cause this problem

Anyone else experiencing similar problems?

Every day, multiable times a day. I have Safari 4.0 also, and it does better by far. Bad thing about IE8 or IE in general, it is hooked all in to the system and even just getting to downloads is a pain of being so slow.

I also have the same problem when browsing with IE8. I also have Office 2007 installed.

Does anyone have a fix for this problem yet? Use a different browser for the meantime?

I've been having this problem since before win7, I would stretch as far as to say that it is IE8 itself. Firefox runs great but IE8 will eventually lock everything up and then come back to life 10 minutes later.

I have since steered clear of IE8, I am sure it has 100 other problems. I had the same issue on vista frequently.

Hello guys,

It may be a bad IE8 add-on causing this. You might see if resetting IE8 may help.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
