IE8 Internet Files... where?

The question might sound fairly straight forward but I'm scratching my head on this one. I go to the Temp Internet files folder and there are a few favicons in there, but nothing else.

I spend 20 minutes browsing around various sites and there's still nothing new in that folder. I work in online ad trafficking so I need to be able to access cookie files, swf files, images, etc (everything that loads into pages). These files loaded with no problems in IE7 in Vista... just wondering what's going on with IE8 in Win7. Is there something I need to change? Somewhere else I need to look?

Thanks in advance.

Update... it would appear the files load, but take about 10-15 minutes to do so. Not instant. Hmm...

Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8 and temp internet files

I too have a need to access the Temporary Internet Files folders...to view versions of prototype, scriptalicious, mootools, etc.

I am using Windows 7 with IE 8 and would like to view my cached files, graphics, javascript files, etc.

All of the places I have been able to search out suggest that the folder resides in:

C:/users/USERname/appData/local/microsoft/windows/TemporaryInternetFiles/ BUT mine is blank...as well as all of the other permutations of "temporary internet files" that can be seen with windows explorer.

Where are the temp internet files located and why make it so hard to see them? In winxp with IE8 you could move the folder to a location of your choice...Win7 allows this but there are only icon files.

I have administrator permissions with only one account on my system and all hidden files, extentions are unchecked in the TOOLS/InternetOptions/Advanced/

Does anyone have the exact path of all of the temporary internet files?

Windows 7 Internet Files Viewing

IE 8 uses a new Low\Content.IE5 folder for subdirectory files like the images and such. It took me a while figure this out, so you may not see anything when you use the old method -> "go to tools, Internet Options. Click on Settings under Internet History and then click view files."

So solve this you need to make sure the option to hide Hidden files/ System hidden files is not checked under folder options under control pannel.

You would find your files at C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low

The only other way to make the files show up in the traditional folder is to turn off IPM (not recomended)
Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) uses Internet Protected Mode. When this is enabled you would only see some downloaded files not the images, videos, ect like you use to.

You need to go to Tools, Internet Options, Click on Security Tab and uncheck the Enable Protected Mode. Restart IE.

Then go back to tools, Internet Options. Click on Settings under Internet History and then click view files. The files should be there now.

Cheers :)
