IE8 needs FIXING - Not ready for Prime Time yet

The only add-on I use is IE7Pro. The crashes happen with or without it, though
That would certainly upset me - that's a great site to reference. Got a specific link?

Cable and pretty darn fast
IE8 is very fast indeed with these Updates released yesterday, I have tried "chromeframe" plugin for a while to increase the speed but it crashed my IE8 and I removed it. Now, I can just ignore "chromeframe" altogether as IE8 is stable and fast.
