IE9 addressbar & tabs ?

hi!

is it possible in IE9 to have the addressbar on it´s own row, and the tabs below ?

Thats the inconvenient and non user-friendly thing that bugs me in IE9.
Hope theres a way to get rid of it.
Wanna use the hardware acceleration

That is pretty much 1 reason why I simply uninstalled IE9 from my machine.....that small address bar in the row of tabs is complete garbage.

Using beta 4 is messy it crashes and needs to smoothen some edges.

There is nothing un-user friendly about IE9's whole little 'Tabs in the same row as the address bar'. Why do we need an entire row for tabs and an entire row for the address bar? It is a space waster.

I dont think so. a address bar with a search bar is an essential. Knowing that they included search in the address bar like Chrome. But the look of the explorer is clumsy.

That is your opinion and I respect that. Microsoft has done something no other competitor has done so far, they've eliminated the need for extra space required 'just' to have the bar and tabs in their own rows. Why have it that way? Is it really that much of a bother? I understand change is hard for those who dislike it but in the end its Microsoft's decision. I do not see them changing the UI to much in the final release either. More so, just polishing it off.

Ten is fine for me. Anyone who needs twenty open at once, well.. I have yet to actually talk with someone that actually 'needs' twenty tabs at once.

Sounds like people are trying to complain about EVERYTHING with IE9. I guess nothing is good just the way it is anymore. Maybe people feel the need to complain about it so much because its Internet Explorer.

I don't see many complaining about how crappy Firefox is right now, slower at launching then IE, slower at loading then IE, at least for me anyways. Even on a clean installation.

Until MS decides to let the user move tabs to a seperate row the only way I found is with an add-on called Quero. I've used it since IE7, but the dev just updated it to work with IE9. It puts the tabs on top of the address bar, so now each one has its own row. Great for people who use a ton of tabs. Quero Toolbar. Hassle-Free Browsing

Yes it is a very good tool. With a little playing around I made it look like what I thought MS should have released it as. Maybe with feedback they will allow users to move them without any add-ons in the next release.

I personally dont see a need for a lot of tabs 4-5 is plenty for me (how many things can u actively be looking at, at any given time?). In fact, its kinda of a pet peive of mine to see tabs lined up all the way accross the top.

I guess one reason i wanted to comment is because im sure microsoft realizes that the average user most likely doesnt use a high number of tabs either. Although some may have a need for 10 tabs or more. I would guess 90% of people browsing the internet dont use more then a couple at a time.

Try using it on a 4:3 screen at an 1152 x 864 resolution and you'll see that at about two or three tabs, the browser's already filled up. I too think the tabs should optionally be allowed on the second row.

fx. when doing research (doublechecking information) and copying to own notes or writing posts on forums, then it´s very useful to have a lot of tabs open.
normally though i have less than 10 tabs open.

i don´t care if 90% of people don´t need a lot of tabs, there should be an optional setting in IE, so the user can select how it should look.
