I have downloaded IE9 and installed it. However, it will not display. I have called my computer CO., but they could not solve the problem. I have tried the googled responses to the problem, but to no avail. I have redownloaded IE 9 at least 3 times.

Any suggestions?

My profile shows 32bit, but I have a 64 bit.

Hello Viamanci

* It would be helpful if we had your System Specs.

* Have you always had this problem with IE9?

* Have you a System Restore Point created prior to this problem occurring?

My mind reading abilities are a tad slow today.

You overlooked answering the two questions below.
* Have you always had this problem with IE9?
* Have you a System Restore Point created prior to this problem occurring?

Also > did you refer to the links provided?

No I did not have the problem from the beginning. I had some problems with my server and they recommended Chrome. So I went to it to work through the problems. I do not have any prior point. It was a long time ago. And I did look at the links you noted. Nothing refers to the program just not loading either from the shortcut, the exc. program, or from the right click "open". I might add that the "devices and printer" window has nothing listed and I have exhausted resources and spent a lot of time trying to resolve that issue. Also my Bluetooth does not work. It may be all related.

Thanks for the help.

Mike

When I upgraded from IE8 to IE9, I had trouble with it starting properly and blank page displays. A reset of Internet Explorer did the trick for me. It's something that could be tried.

What I mean is that when I double click, nothing happens. The screen does not change one bit.

Thanks for your question.

Thanks for the response. I think I did this before, but I did it again. The results is that all green checks except a red x at the line "Applying default settings". I removed my personal settings prior to the reset

Check the statement "How does resetting affect my computer" in the reset window:

To reset Internet Explorer settings

  1. Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and InPrivate Filtering data.
In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
  2. When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click OK.
  3. Close Internet Explorer.
Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.
Notes

  • If you close all visible windows, but still get an error message when trying to reset, you might have programs running that are not visible. Restart Windows, open Internet Explorer, and try resetting again.
  • To back up your home page or home page set before resetting Internet Explorer defaults, see...
  • If any of the categories fail to reset, it is because Internet Explorer could not access a file or registry setting. This can be caused by insufficient security privileges, files or settings being used by another program, or low memory or high CPU usage. You can either continue to use Internet Explorer without restoring these settings, or restart your computer and try to reset again.
  • If you are using Internet Explorer on a server and have turned off Enhanced Security Configuration or hardening (stronger security settings for use on servers), reset will go to client-level security. You must reinstall hardening if you want the increased security level. For more information on Enhanced Security Configuration, see Enhanced Security Configuration for Internet Explorer online.
