Hello everyone!
I am not sure where else to post this so if this i the wrong area please let me know and I can put it in the correct location.

So I have an MSI laptop, I have used it for the past couple months via HDMI on either a TV in my room, or through a receiver to a TV in the living room.

The other day I had unplugged it without turning it off. (The battery is ruined on it so it needs to be plugged in to be on/doesn't hold a charge).

So the next day I go to put it on my TV, and it says that it is 'searching for signal' on the TV.
In the display options on the laptop, it does not show 2 monitors.
When I switch inputs on the TV it recognises there is in something on HDMI 1, but it just keeps saying 'searching for signals'. If I switch the cable to HDMI 2, it picks it up that something is hooked up, but I still get the same message.

I tried to screw around a little bit yesterday as well as read and try and find out the solution but I could not.

Has anyone experiences this? Do you know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

It is hard to say happens to a computer when it is powered off without shutting down.
I would perform a system restore to a restore point before the unplugging occurred.

Yea I am thinking that is going to be the last resort. I am going to go over the settings again later and make sure that external display is activated.
If not, Ill have to try.
The weird part is, my room mate has a lap top too.
He was listening to music via laptop to receiver to TV. Now his wont display either.

So we have 2 laptops that wont display on the living room TV, and my laptop wont display in my room TV either.

Really strange.

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated, I am going to research on my lunch and screw around with it tonight.

Thanks for the suggestion pbcopter.
