Hello,
I am in a very difficult situation having BSOD in my new iMac i5 3.4 8gb, ssd 500gb running windows 7 in Bootcamp.
It happens randomly ,1 Bsod per 2weeks while running an Audio producer software (Sonar x3).
The last time it happens in front of my clients and the project file corrupted so i waste many hours of work...plus the embarrassment!
I am running an audio interface via Firewire(thunderbolt adapter) and never had that issue with my old Pc although the setup was the same.
The first 2 Bsod i had,was about (as i understood) the legacy firewire windows driver, which i change for more compatibility. Now i set it back to default but the BSoD continues...refering to the Wdf01000.sys file...
This is a work machine and i am very disappointed with this situation...until i found this forum...it's a bless..
Thank you,
Antony

Hi awaker.

The issue seems to be related with Yamaha Steinberg. Not with the device or driver (at least that I am thinking ATM) but with the driver of the port to which it is connected.

Follow this guide: How to Revert the Win7 1394ohci.sys to the Legacy Driver

Let us know the result.

Hello Arc and thank you so much for the reply!
The legacy driver is the driver that I I used initially and gave me the first two Bsod.
After these crashes I changed it to the one that I currently use,the 1394 compliant. So are the 3 latest bsod caused by the same reason as the first 2?
Thank you very much for you time!!

What I see that all the crash dumps in te zip (5 total, from 16/04 to 26/05) reports exactly the same.

Let us know the situation after reverting to the legacy driver back.

Ok,
I am using the apple thunderbolt to firewire adapter to connect my firewire audio interface. This adapter uses the LSI chip set. This is the default firewire driver that windows and apple wants me to use. So I I will switch to this, although I had a few audio glitches with this driver at the beginning...I prefer some dropouts better than BSOD'S!

I think there is a misunderstanding here :)
The 1394ohci.sys and the legacy firewire driver was the drivers that happen to use while I had the Bsod.
I tried the legacy driver at the past and gave me the first two Bsod. Then I switched to the 1394ohci.sys driver, the situation was a little bit better but also had bsod..the 3 last.
So I think the LSI driver is the only option I have to try.
Do I understand something wrong?

Try the other alternative. If nothing is changed, contract Yamaha.
