Hello Seven Forums.

I have a bootcamped Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit iMac 27" with 4 gigabytes of RAM installed.
I was thinking if it was possible to add some more RAM, and I searched around, and found a site that scanned your computer, and told you how much RAM you had installed. In my case, I had slots with 2 gigabytes each, and 2 slots left.
I used this custom scanner, which gave me these informations: Memory upgrades from Crucial.com - Determine My Memory Needs

I'm playing a lot of PC Games, and I also edit video's etc, so if I ex need to play Battlefield 3 with the highest quality, could 16 gig's of RAM be a good thing to have? And do you guys think it's good?

Cadeus.

(Reason why I didn't post on some Mac forums is because they don't really answer your question's, and they have no experience about Win 7)

Welcome to Sevenforums, Cadeus. Unless you are running a bunch of virtual machines on your iMac, 8gb of ram will be plenty for games and video editing.

Good, so It will not increase the speed with 16-20 gigabytes of RAM?

8GB is fine. 16 to 20 is alot and would be fast, but 8 is plenty.

First custom build, saving up for a GTX770!
16gb won't be noticeably faster.

One thing everyone failed to notice is that he only running 32 bit Windows, adding more than 4 GB in that case would be a total waste as Windows won't be able to use it. Also despite being "largeaddressaware" BF3 is still a 32 bit game, so won't use much more than 3 GB (if that).

And no 8/16 GB won't speed up something like BF3 noticeably enough to warrant the cost. If have as the others have mentioned other programs that can take advantage of more than 4 GB, go for it; but very few games will make use of it.

I patched the RAM lock.
I had 2.33 GB RAM in use before, and now I have all 4 GB RAM in use.
I think I will buy a 4 GB RAM then, so I have 8.

Can you tell us what program you used for patch? This is interesting... Also, can you list your system specs. would be interested in why you are using 86x instead of 64x as you could install either with the same key.... is your imac
mobo/cpu not 64x compatible? or any other specific reasons? again, just very interested.

I know that changing the PAE has been available in different OS's like Linux. Win7 now has this functionality as well...
