I wanna change my default folder from imageres.dll but i don't know how to do that.
Do i have to use ResHacker or WSB ? I have both, actually.
Please, explain me where is that folder located after i open imageres.dll
Thanks.

Not sure what you mean by your default folder
Which of those do you want to change?

You will have to find it .

I still don't know what you mean by default folder - do you mean all the folders that used to be yellow in explorer have been replaced by that one?

Have allok with an icon viewer - pick up imageres.dll and see which numbers have been replaced with the blue folder you have.

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iconsext.html

Then you can use e.g. resource hacker to find those numbers and replace them.

Run res hacker as admin , browse to imageres.dll and find the numbers to replace

imageres-reshacker.jpg

Of course, you will need the icons you want to replace the blue ones with.

You will need to edit 3/4/5/6 for the full folder, back, side, and closed view to get them to work properly.Copy the imageres.dll folder to your desktop. Replace 3/4/5/6 with your new icons using resource hacker and then replace the imageres.dll file in the system32 folder. Then repeat for the shell32.dll aswell

Those locations include the front, side, closed and open view for all folders.Do you have the 4 icon pictures for each of these like mine below.I think also you need to change 162 for the folder inside a folder view

Ok, i made it. But a lot of subfolders looks very strange. I cleared the cache, too.
Have a look here, please. They should be all blue. The others are funny :)

Have you replaced all 4 images in both imageres.dll and shell32.dll Can you post a screenshot of those icons in your new imageres folder
