Impossibility to Install English Language Pack on Windows 7 Enterprise

Greetings,



An IT staff at a company where I have been working seems to be unable (or lazy enough) to install an English Language Pack on a French Version (a base installation) of Windows 7 Enterprise via Windows Updates.



When launching the update with English Language Pack selected all seems to work well til a certain moment of an installation.

The process is stopped with an error message and the update is not applied.



I cannot believe that the IT technician keep assuring me that the operation is impossible to achieve.



I would appreciate any suggestion or advice leading me to manage to get the English Language Pack installed.

Hi Tofik,
Company issued/controlled comps, fall outside the remit of forums.
Why because THEY own them, therfor any changes must be made and AUTHORISED by them.


I highly suspect that they have placed a GPO rule into your system only allowing updates via THIER server.
You should be able to check this by viewing your CBS log.
Compter >> C >> Windows >> logs >> cbs
open the above folder read top text log,

What is strange I have an old machine to be replaced (here is the issue with English language pack) where there is a base French version installed with the English Pack.

Now it seems to be impossible to reproduce the same language setting on a new machine (Win 7 64 bit Ent).

I will forward your message to a technician.
