Increasing RAM

Now I have just watched video where the maker claims that the RAM can be increased by running the Windows memory diagnostic tool in the Extended mode in essence he claimed to have doubled the 16GB RAM in the machine to 32GB after this test had been run.

Now needles to say I am very sceptical about this and I cannot see how this is possible it is like saying get a 100 gallon tank and give it a good clean and then it will hold 200 gallons.

Anyone with a less sceptical mind know about this as it seems one could be wasting money buying more RAM if this can be done

I have seen a number of his videos in the past and found them entertaining. Some have stated in a note that they are meant as a joke but many do not. And such notes are often missed. They are presented in such a way that many novices will believe them. These at least are relatively harmless. At one time there were claims (not from Apple) that some of the new iPhones could be quickly charged in a Microwave oven. Anyone trying this found out the hard way they were false.

It seems the author of these videos has now claimed he is going to switch to presenting real tips. Unfortunately for him he has blown his credibility. A good reputation is easily lost, but very difficult to regain.

Edit: Unfortunately there is a lot of this kind of thing on the Internet. There is at least one website where you can supposedly download RAM. It is clearly marked as a joke but this is sometimes missed. I saw on a forum where someone had done this and was asking for help with installing it. He was quite upset that nobody could help him.

Yep I thought as much mate I have seen the blender on and the phone re-charger with no external source I think it is the one that he wraps it in foil and must be offering prayers to Bhudda or something afterwards.

Like I said how can you increase the physical size without doing just that?? I just wonder what he gets out of all that stuff apart from money via YouTube eh??

I was just curious because I increased my Sandy Bridge RAM this afternoon with some sticks I forgotten I had and boy she flies now for a bog standard build.
