.inf files and their opperations - List needed

Hi folks...Is there any documentary or information on the net that has a list of all (or most) of Window's ".inf"-files and what they do? I.e. i know "sr.inf" restores the System Restore section of Windows if it gets corrupt...so i thought it would be a good idea to have MOST of all these ".inf" file documentation at hand in case you need to do a certain repair on windows...
