Solved Install 2 ssd's on a system without the correct cables :(

Need allot of rocks with accurate pictures :)
This is actually what kicked my ass,

The 100 MB System Reserved partition is used for the Boot Manager code, BCD (Boot Configuration Database), System Recovery Options (Windows RE), and start up files for BitLocker (if turned on).
  • If you want to have the 100 MB System Reserved partition in addition to the Windows 7 C: partition on a HDD or SSD after installation, then you would need to make sure that all partitions on the drive have been deleted until it is only unallocated space. Next, select the unallocated drive to install Windows 7 on. If there are no partitions on the disk, you will get the 100 MB System Reserved.
  • If you do not want to have the 100 MB System Reserved partition and only the Windows 7 C: partition on a HDD or SSD after installation, then select a formatted partition or drive to install Windows 7 on. If there are any partitions on the disk, you won't get the 100 MB System Reserved.

Mike, you complicate your life. If you install Win 10 in virtual on the external eSata SSD, there will be zero impact on the base Windows 7 system. No BIOS, no 100MB system partition, no bootmgr - nothing of the kind will be effected.

Mike, WHS is right. What you quoted is no different than Windows 7. And running in a VM has nothing to do with your OS drive. It's more like putting something in a folder, which is exactly what I do with my VMs. It has no effect on the host OS at all.

Mike, it's a bit more work but easy. Can we discuss that tomorrow. It is approaching midnight in my neck of the woods and I am now going to hit the hey.

In the meantime you can setup one of your SSDs in the eSata enclosure and attach it. Then allocate a 60GB partition on the SSD. You can do that with Disk Management. Leave the rest of the space unallocated because it is a lot easier to extend a partition than to shrink it.

You may also want to download VMware Playeramd install it. That will give you something to do in the interim.

Okay I haven't got the other ssd yet just saw that one for 99.00 and posted it,
I've installed VMware three times
Once and found out can't do a 64 bit iso Yikes and uninstalled,
Found out 32 bit iso will work but panicked and bailed out on that one because well I panicked :p

I believe there's a plan now and I'll just need to get the final piece,
