Installing and sharing an HP Laserjet 1020 on Win7 x64

I know this is an old thread, but having reinstalled everything on my PC this Christmas (HP LaserJet 1020 included) I'd thought I'd share.

I stumbled upon an updated driver from HP for Win7 (x64) on November 9th, 2010 v2.0 so I figured I'd give it a try since all the old download links above were broken; and lo-and-behold HP had finally fixed the Win7 (x86? AND x64) drivers!

It works. I used this method to share a HP color LaserJet attached to a 2008R2 Server machine.
Thank you so much. It made my day!

OMG, I Love you!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Our resident computer "expert" couldn't figure out how to get our hp1020 recognized on my boss's new laptop. With your instructions, I was able to come out looking like a superstar because I could get it to work on her machine and he couldn't. I love you!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! :D
