Installing the Broadcom USH w/ swipe sensor on a Dell Precision M4400

Hello All,

I reinstalled Windows 7 on my Dell Precision M4400. The install went seamlessly except there is a driver called, Broadcom USH w/ swipe sensor which did not install. Dell has set up a webpage for the driver which shows which version of the driver that goes with which machine and which OS. My machine is listed under several OS but not for Windows 7 Pro (32 bit). There is a driver for Windows 7 (64 bit) but I do not think I can use it.

Have you tried Dell's driver download page for your specific computer. Go to Dell Support home page. Use the Detect Product button to let Dell detect your hardware. Does it recommend a Dell ControlPoint Driver among the driver list for your machine.

The Dell doc you reference in your post says the driver is in Dell ControlPoint. If you had to select on your own, ignore the Manager and Applications. You need a Driver Pack. I'd guess trying the Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager LAN Driver Pack

Just saw another thread in the forum where someone else was also missing the driver for Broadcom USH. When you look at the drivers on the Dell site, try the Dell ControlVault driver too.
