Installing win 7 on new laptop with emmc

Try resetting to defaults.

Boot disk as UEFI device, delete all partitions. Click Next.

You may need to also disable Legacy. Secure Boot always off.

If that fails enable Legacy to boot plain DVD.

There is no cd/dvd drive. By 'disk', do you mean boot the usb drive i'm trying to install win 7 from? If so, then I have already tried as you said, and got the 2 errors I posted earlier. If you mean the local disk, then windows 8 loads up.

Yes, I have done exactly that. In total, I have probably rebooted my computer and reformatted 2 different usb sticks about 20-30 times, on both F.05 and F.06. As I have said, I have tried all (mostly) possible combinations/permutations of options of those tutorials you linked me (including using uefi boot with winx64 iso). It took me 3 days.

As long as you tried again after the BIOS update you only just mentioned, and you've confirmed the ISO so there is no doubt that it is pristine, tested the stick formatted UEFI and Legacy in other PC's to see that they boot and queue up to install, and everything else checklisted from the top of this thread, then I guess we have to assume it is the drive.

I would contact the drive manufacturer to ask for their assistance. Have you also searched every possible combination of the drive and PC model + Windows 7 [UEFI] install? Someone surely has encountered this issue before and may have a resolution.

Is the stick every actually booting a UEFI device? This would point to bad ISO or format if not.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I was already on F.06 for a while but downgraded to F.05 to see if it would help/have more options. The stick can boot as UEFI or legacy depending on what options I choose and the formatting. There does not seem to be an issue regarding that, I think. I have contacted Samsung and they pointed me to HP who seem just as clueless. I am not even sure if it's a problem with the motherboard/chipset drivers or hard disk driver. I have searched for people with similar problems but a lot of them are not solved or solved by attaining the right drivers. I still haven't found any drivers yet, from google searches. I think my chipset is bay trail-M. I also heard that I may need an ahci driver, whatever that is.

Guys, this literally drives me crazy.
I have the same issue on a HP Stream 13 thing.
The problem here is not the bios, it is able to boot up also in UEFI and legacy mode. The problem is the chipset, that's why tsundere and I have this message during install.
There is no valid windows 7 driver (nor x86, not x64) for this chipset (Bay Trail-T) formerly known as Valleyview2. We need to find a workaround for this.
So far I've tried:

-Install a tweaked windows7, based on the windows 8.1 install environment - half success, it sees the drive, installs, but after first boot it resets. Might be driver compatibility issues, but this method was the most successful so far. But also in safe-mode, it doesn't boot up, after loading disk.sys it resets.

-Try to find compatible drivers for this chipset and integrate them into the installer disk - no success so far, it brings the same error as stated before (installer doesn't see my hard drive)

-Also tried to upgrade BIOS, hoped for more oppurtunites in setup, but as the other guy said, it had no effect.
I am stucked here also, slowly running out of ideas.
I will post an update, as soon as I found out something.

Thanks for posting here yohnsee, this gives me new hope. The tweaked windows 7 method is good find, I've never even heard of that. Is there a tutorial that teaches how to do that?

@tsundere

I just downloaded the tweaked version, it was not compiled by me. But I can ask the guy, who made it (on how he made it) and I come back as soon as he replied.

Edit: But as I said, it is only a half solution, may worth a try altough.

Hi,
Can you post a link to your exact hdd how old is it anyway ?
Also make sure fast boot is disabled or speed stepping...
What other options are in uefi I know I have uefi only and windows uefi mode which is a compatibility mode

UEFI only is a pain in the rear end it's best to not use it if there's Other OS mode use it AHCI I believe.

First, sorry for the long delay. (lot of work)
Second, i can only dig up Hungarian version for this installer. I don't think that will fit your needs. :(
I won't give up, still looking for a workaround for this.

Samsung MGB4GC {Hardware ID: SD/GenDisk} is the information I see in device manager. I could not find a website for this. When I phoned Samsung they said "there is no driver". I extracted the generic microsoft driver and integrated it into each iso (x32 & x64), and they froze at '4 dots' screen. I have already listed all the BIOS options available earlier in this thread and have permutated them with every combination of iso+settings. There aren't many bios options..

The Hungarian version would still be very helpful actually, I would choose that over win 8 anyday. I'm also curious to see how that iso is constructed

Hi, can I have the link for Hungarian iso? Im working on the same trouble with a HP Stream.... I would try to extract the drivers from your iso and integrate in my w7 variant....
Thanks
