Solved Installing Windows 7 on new HDD

If you want to try the Recovery Disks or the backup image you made then you can do that under the circumstances, take more time to download a Win7 DVD to Clean Reinstall later. I'd look out for a friend with a faster connection to do the download for you.

If you have a Win7 backup image you'd use this method for System Image Recovery.

The Acer backup disks are booted and run in order: Acer Support: Frequently Asked Questions list for Recovery media and Restoring a system to factory load

Firefox download manager is called DownThemAll! :: Add-ons for Firefox - Mozilla Add-ons.

The other browsers have something similar as an Add-On - you only have to google what it is. These allow you to interrupt downloads to continue them later.

Thanks a bunch Greg and all, hopefully all goes well with the installation, I will definitely use one of those add-on's to download Windows 7

Ok quick question about which version I'm going to need to download, my sticker on laptop says Windows 7 Prem OA, so does that mean I need to download Windows 7 Home Premium x64 RTM, and not Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 U (media refresh) ?

My laptop was manufactured March 13 2012 so I would assume that my Windows 7 copy is not SP1

Ok NVM I found the box and it says Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, now the question is can I use the Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 U (media refresh) or do I need to use Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 (old)???
