Are they planning on charging less for them?
other than the 100mhz max turbo difference I don't notice anything about them short of the 3d support removed.
Just trying to figure out the point.
If they are going out at a reduced price it would make sense for people using dedicated anyway.

I haven't looked heavily into the prices on the first two chips, but Tiger Direct, Microcenter and Newegg are charging more for the i5 2550k versus the i5-2500k.
I too, am baffled at Intel's marketing.

Going to these new chips really doesn't make any sense to me either. Unless lowering the price to get more market share.

MicroCenter discounted price has the 2550k for $20 more than the 2500k, but the base price is listed as the same.

The specs look the same except for the onboard graphics, not including the 34 vs 33 multiplier.
You would think the 2550k would be a little cheaper.

Might just be the dead graphics bin.

P67 is chip set, graphics is integrated in CPU.. on P67 motherboard you can not use it (but the graphics is still there)

it would make sense for CPU without graphics to be cheaper. and people who uses P67 motherboard can buy cpu without graphics because they dont use it anyway.

I think they are stalling the ivy bridge, while trying to clean out the shelves. But if the pricing doesn't offer the user a nice break then I think it is a feeble attempt.

You never know, we have some specialty gurus here that are only good with certain things. Anyhow p67 is dead so is h67. Now that we have the z68 that does everything both of them did. ...and the x79+ boards are circulating now. I would have gone one of those on this build but the socket 2011 is still a bit of a premium price. Especially for decent motherboards..

Looks like a multi bumb of a 2500K.
Kinda like the 2600 Vs 2700 .. which is only a few dollars more.

So, the multi bump and few dollars more seems about right ... if it had the graphics.
A bit odd it doesn't at the price
