Go to this site using IE8:

Microsoft Update Catalog

If it asks you to install some plug-in say yes. In the search box type in 915gm and you will get the latest drivers for the board. It's a 4.6 MB download. I accidentally found it while searching for drivers for my mobo.

You can't get Aero on the 915 chipset -- I know because I have a laptop with that chipset and have tried ALL the different hacks, ever since the early days of Vista, and NONE of them work.

You have to update the drivers using Device Manager -- and point it to the file. If that still doesn't work, then you will have to uncompress the .CAB files into a directory -- and try again, this time, pointing at the directory.

It worked but when I restart the computer it puts the standard VGA drvers back.

Hello rajuad1 To use aero effects you need 945 or higher model motherboard so if you want aero then just thing to activate aero just change your motherboard to 945.

get a vista version of the driver and point device manager to that, i had exactly same problem with xp drivers, vista one works fine
