Intel centrino wireless-n 1030 only 1/3 of wired internet speed

My internet plan speed is 25 Mbps. When wired, I can fully utilize this speed. However when wireless, my laptop can only go as high as around 8 Mbps.

My lan driver is the Atheros® AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller.
My wlan driver is the Intel centrino wireless-n 1030.

Both are on their latest versions. Maybe I can use a different driver but I don't know what. My laptop is the ASUS u46sv with Windows 7 home premium. I'll appreciate any help.

You will never get the full rated speed on a wireless connection. IPs only project wired speeds and the latency of a wireless connection is the price you pay to use wireless.

I'm not sure if I agree since I get 25 Mbps using my other laptop on a wireless connection.

Check if theres a newer driver
and whats the setting here, see screenshot.

note thats a single channel card, ie 2.4 only

You need to check if there is any other router close to you on the same channel
