I'm currently writing this on a Windows 10 Desktop as I've done a factory reset on my laptop. "Video scheduler has detected a fatal violation" error message and consistently crashes the upon login screen, with red lines all over screen eventually a full freeze after a series of flash crashes.

Using safe mode, I disabled Intel Graphics and the problem has been resolved (theme changed from black back to default blue in the taskbar) However, I do know know which series Windows Updates caused this issue to occur.

Before Jan 2020, I had installed all updates from Windows Update (it had already upgraded to Intel Graphics 3000 and was working fine with no problems). In fact, I had never updated for several years (since 2016).

I've tried reverting back to the older versions of the Chipset and VGA driver (but didn't completely remove them, only reinstall over them; I read somewhere these drivers should be removed completely before re-install) from Acer vendor site and they still cause the same problem, even the newest ones that upgrade to Intel Graphics 3000 will crash too.

Will I need to do a new DM Log Collect for this session?

Hi Solid Purity-

Open a command prompt as administrator and run

sfc /scannow

Does it find any problems?

Nope.

Windows Resource Protection did not any integrity violations.

Did you reinstall all the Win 7 updates after the factory reset?

In progressing with Windows Updates (updated the first batch of 159 updates) and slowly doing the rest as we speak.

edit:
I'll re-enable Intel Graphics once all updates are complete and let you know most likely tomorrow around 9 am - 1 pm.

I work 3pm - 11pm & require an hour to get there so; by the time I'm home it's about midnight.

edit2:
I enabled Intel Graphics Family & crashing started again; thus I'll disable it again for further troubleshooting.

edit3: Well, I've eventually got the Windows message asking to switch to Win10 as Win7's no longer supported; still more updates to come though. Maybe no more "updates for Windows 7 ...

With your Intel Graphics enabled,, go to Device Manger, Sound, Video........................

If the Intel HD device is shown, right click on it and select ‘Uninstall’.

Then Reboot.

Does that help?

Standard VGA Graphics Adapter has installed in replacement after uninstalling Intel Graphics Family.

I did not click the option of deleting/removing the driver yet, should I remove it completely?

edit:

With Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, Windows Update will recommend updating to "Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2 - Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000"

When updated, this will also cause the system to crash upon login screen.

Both Intel Graphics 3000 (from Windows Update) & Intel Graphics Family (from vendor) are crashing the system.

edit2:

Based on Intel's site, Intel Graphics 3000 (and Centrino Advanced-N 6205 - wireless LAN) has been discontinued. It's likely that there's no further support for these drivers.

If there's no real solutions; I can live with using the standard VGA adapter.

I asked that you re-enable the Intel graphics and then uninstall it from Device Manager. Rebooting should re-install the driver.

Yes, I followed those instructions and I mentioned that uninstalling that driver automatically installed Standard VGA Adapter (instead of Intel Graphics).

Installed and rebooted (I'm running in safe mode with network; I've left Intel Graphics 3000 driver enabled).

The same error occurs. In my previous post edits, I included a dump file for you to analyze. Maybe that will help identify the problem.

Would you like me to re-post the dump file again?

edit:

A new dump file was created, I'll upload if required.

DM Log Collector has copied both dump files into 1 zip file. It seems weird to only post the second dump now as Log Collector already zipped it. However, I will do so anyway.

Here's both the ZIP file & and second dump.

I've updated BIOS to v1.21 and Intel 3000 still crashed the system creating a new dump file.

I noticed when/if I'm able to login successfully without crashing, there will be red lines all over screen and there would be a popup on the bottom right that mentions something like Intel(R) Accelerator Graphics for Windows 8 stopped responding.

The Intel Graphics on Intel site does mention both Win8 and Win7 64-bit, but Win7 has an asterisk (Windows* 7) on the note. Perhaps the vendor Intel Graphics - Intel (8.15.10.2342) should be installed instead?

Additionally, Hardware Detection did not help, it only views what I have installed.

I don't see any note related to the asterisk. I think that's intended to be a copyright symbol. That driver is for both Win 7 and 8.

I saw that 8.15................... while I was looking. I see it for another model at this site-

Download Acer Aspire 4739Z Intel Graphics Driver 8.15.10.2342 for Windows 7.

I didn't look at your processor so make sure it's compatible with the ones listed.

Where's the new .dmp?

I wonder if installing the driver, that's suggested earlier, in Win 7 compatibility mode would make a difference.

I'll upload it after work when I boot back into safe mode.

Here's the third dump file.

Should I uninstall (and delete) the current Intel 3000 (9.17) and switch to 8.15?

How would I go about installing a driver in Win7 compatibility mode (if I choose to try and re-install 9.17?) Is it the same as right-clicking like regular programs?
