Intel Integrated 845g Chipset Drivers

Fix

i will post it on youtbe to help for windows 7 and vista
thanks! please let us know when it is up.

Ok boys and girls. The chipseat won't run on 7. That doesn't mean you can't run 7! You just not going to be able to run it with all the capabilities. Intel Integrated Chipset (845g) is a standard for most computers that are early 2000. Here's how to make it work:

1. got to intel website
2. Search for intel 845g!
3. Your computer sucks, so go to old archives.
4. Download 845g to your desktop.
5.Take 20 minutes to find "dektop manager"
6. Click on disply.
7. Right click standard VGA
8. Search for new software on this computer
9. Select your downlod from you desktop. (if you can do this you got no business trying)
10: computer shoul automatically restart with new settings.
11. Get ride of you pile of crap and get a new one. Or just keep searching the thread for a better solution!!

Thanks for your help!

I went HERE and downloaded the XP drivers from Intel. Failed the first time with a "wrong operating system error" but the installer then offered to try again with adjusted compatibility settings. Second try was successful. I can now use the "full" power of the 82845G integrated video on my Win7 test box. Seems OK so far.

I don't think there is a native Vista or Win7 driver for this chipset.

This worked for me!. It was on a Compaq presario S4000 NX with this graphic integrated device.

I have sony-vaio TR3AP and I am running windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. I had a problem with a chipset and video controller when I upgraded from xp to Windows 7, the link above solved the problem. Give it a try this chipsets don't differ too much. Good luck!

re: compatibility mode

....IF you run them in xp compatability and administrator mode.
That's what did the trick for me ... otherwise it would hang at the animated windows graphic, before getting to the login. Here's a HowTo.

INTEL 845G Extreme Graphics on Windows 7

Hello all,

I have a Foxconn 845GV4MRES mommy board with a Celeron 2.8 ghz processor and the integrated INTEL 845G graphics chip. My machine was built by me many years ago (perhaps 7) and I've gotten a lot of miles out of it. This is a good chip but Windows 7 doesn't support it well. I downloaded from INTEL the following : win2K_xp14103. Once downloaded I double-clicked on it which expanded it, automatically ran the installer which reported that my operating system in not supported. I opened my downloads folder and right clicked on the file and chose Properties, then clicked the Compatibility Tab, then selected the check box "Run the program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP (Service Pack 3) then the Apply button.

Next I re-ran the installer getting no messages about my OS incompatibility and it asked if I wanted to reboot now and I did so. No crashing afterward, all is well.

Ahh... One more thing. Before I installed the win2K_xp14103 I had already installed the monitor driver (not the display adapter driver) replacing the standard vga driver (mine is an AOC 2436vh) and I also had to install that driver in compatibility mode too. You will probably want to do this as well. Check your device manager and see what is listed beside Monitor. If it says Standard VGA you really need to download the proper driver for it (I used a Vista driver off the CD that came with my monitor) dragged a copy of it to my hard drive, and located the driver there and set it to run in compatibility mode for Vista and installed it.

I am updating a friend of mine's old Dell Dimension 2350 and after installing Windows 7 Pro on it the display was very large and I couldn't adjust the resolution but after a lot of google-ing and trying different things I finally found the solution that worked. A lot of people advised that I download the video driver from Dell and run it in XP Compatibility Mode but that never worked. So what I did was download the driver for the 845GL chipset from Intel. After installing it go to the folder where it is located and right click then properties then compatibility then make sure you click the box to run as administrator then click change for all users and when the next window appears make sure all the same stuff is checked and then click apply. After doing all that back out and right click on the driver program and click compatibility to make sure all the check boxes you just checked are still checked then run the program by double clicking and follow all the instructions for the install. When it asks, restart your computer and the video resolution should be fine and adjustable!

I don't mean for this to sound elementary but I wish I could have found a detailed explanation on how to do it before I wasted so much time. The link to Intel's site for the driver download is below.
