Intel Rapid Storage Technology not working - Windows non responsive

My Windows 7 is running slow however it is different from simply lagging. The mouse works fine however clicking on applications does not bring them up. The only difference I can see is an error message coming up saying "Intel Rapid Storage Technology not working".

Any ideas on what I should do or extra information you require?
