I have just a few months of playing around with several different Linux distor's and while I don't totally understand it and get along with it. My three favorite are Zorin OS, OpenSUSE and Ubuntu.

Who's using Linux here?

Windows is still the best OS for PCs. Linux has made its place as the best OS for tablets and mobiles. But, defeating Windows will be very difficult in PC world.

I used to think that until I started using Gimp and LibreOffice. As good as if not better than Photoshop and ms office. I doubt I'll ever "buy" software again. I gladly donate to developers.

There is definitely lots of really good stuff out that is free and as good as Windows software. But not enough. I run a design/engineering business so I need some very specific software. To my knowledge SolidEdge offer a Linux installer but it very expensive. And its not just software, next come all the CADalogues for standard parts. Like it or not... currently Linux is not a choice. :cry:
