I have a Gateway FX series 17" laptop and yesterday when I got home from university and took the computer out of my bag to start working, the wireless card just didnt exist, no networks were recognized and when i tried to troubleshoot it told me that no device was connected. Wired internet works just fine. And the wireless card appears in the device manager.

methods i have tried to no avail:
-turning the wireless switch on and off
-uninstalling the device and rebooting
-updating drivers
-manually downloading driver from Intel's website
-insulting the device's mother

I'm suspecting this might be a hardware issue but if anyone has some advice that would be great. For the time being I am just using a wired connection but I'm going to need the wireless when I'm. back in class

,Thanks guys
