Intermitent, Graphic card is slowing down

Hello

Intermittently, my graphic card slow down and the mouse move with a slower pace than normal

This system as 4 monitors screen. Two of them are driven with USB graphic card, the others two are driven with my graphic card, Asus EAH4870 DG 1G. This is the one that as slowing down

I can drag the windows that is displayed by the grapfic card over the screen driven by the USB card, all is smooth


What can cause that. Any test I could do?

MB: Asus P5B
CPU: Intel Q6600
WIndows 7 64
Ram: 6 G
PSU: 600W
Disk: SSD 120G

First, you have to understand that your USB display adapters use system resources to function. They use resources from both the CPU and your GPU memory. The only point of this that I don't really understand is the priority. You say that the USB adapters are providing stable graphics while the GPU powered monitors are choppy at times. If you disconnect the usb adapters does the choppiness go away?

I will test that later as I'm working with the system and just can't close application

As mentioned, this is an intermittent problem. When it occur, USB adapter is still smooth will the screen driven by the card is choppy

Will the symptom apparent to that or the card will not function at all?

If you get a drop in voltage to the GPU you should actually crash. This sounds more like a resource issue.

EDIT:And your PSU should be providing more than enough power for your system.

No

I'm displaying trading charts. It is the same during the whole day. When it occur, I'm not doing anything differently.

I taught that it could be a overheating problem ( card is not overclocked) so I opend my case and placed the pc tour on the side to make sure that the eat is getting out of the PC. Same problem

Other than testing the gpu stability with the USB adapter disconnected, I would say try running all 4 monitors from the adapter if you have the available ports to do so.

Is there anything to do to allocate more resources to Windows and or graphic card?

How can I test the resource level?

Were you able to figure out how to use it? The second tab, Sensors, should show you what you what you are looking for. Take snips of the different tabs under different scenarios. 1 for stable usage and 1 while the display gets choppy.

I would be interested in seeing the minimum, while the choppiness is not occurring and the maximum while the choppiness is observed. If you click on the labels, there are options to show minimum, maximum, current, and average. Please try and capture the minimums and maximums.

Okay, well your usage is definitely spiking on the GPU, and you say you are only viewing trading boards when this happens? Are your gpu drivers up to date? And did you try alternately disconnecting the GPU fed monitors and then the USB adapter fed monitors? And do you have the availability(free vga ports) on your USB adapter to connect all of the monitors to that?
