Good Morning,

How can I block all Internet traffic in and out, temporarily?

I have tried using Internet Connection in the Control Panel. It blocks everything quite effectively, only that block is forever! Enabling it does not work and I have to re-boot to be able to access the Internet again.

At worst I can install Commodo's firewall, or Zone Alarm which both have such a utility built-in, but I would prefer another solution.

Hi Cheemag

Welcome to Seven Forums :)
How about powering the modem and router off whenever you want to go offline?

You could just turn you wifi off or disable the wifi/rj45 adapter.
What is your goal?

Thank you all, but all of these are too long-winded (I'm lazy).

As I said, disabling Internet Connection is not a Good Idea as it cannot be re-enabled without a re-boot (on my machine anyway).

I solved it by installing Commodo Firewall and disabling the Windows one.

Sounds like you have a bit of a virus left over and maybe a corrupted winsock.
But if you have it working you way you like it..its all good.

No virus, altho' I don't know about the WinSock.

I had the same problem on the XP machine. Although it didn't require a re-boot to rejoin the Net, it did take some minutes to do so.

Thanks for your response.
