Windows 7 32-bit, internet connection drops frequently. Other devices on the network are not affected. Reboot temporarily fixes it. Connection was wi-fi, so I switched to ethernet. Problem continued. Ran Microsoft Fixit 20140, problem continued. Ran TCP/IP Stack Reset and disabled IPV 6. Problem continues. I'm out of ideas and need suggestions.

The problem affects both wi-fi and ethernet, so not adapter related. Other devices connected to the network are not affected.

When you reset the TCP/IP stack did you run all the commands posted here?

Also, do you have Avast on some other anti-virus that might pose a problem? You may need to use their uninstaller.

Thanks for this, it is a more thorough reset than just the ip reset. We'll see if that does it.

Do you have Avast or an anti-virus program installed? What is it's name?
