Thanks in advance everyone!:) I've just had a custom built PC with Windows 7 installed. The problem I'm having is I am unable to connect to the Internet. The modem/connections work ok on my old PC. I've downloaded the transfer file to my old PC (Windows XP) as prompted by W7. I then loaded everything into the trans. file and then loaded it onto my new PC. But still no i/net connection! Is there a specific file or information I may have missed that has not been loaded onto my new PC? which is the reason I cant connect? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.:banghead:

EasyTransfer moves over your files and settings (a corruption path into a fresh install) but not connection settings which need to be set up separately by clicking on the System tray connection icon.

It may only prompt you to connect to your network, but if it doesn't then you'll need to rightclick to run the Troubleshooter to see what it needs. If it's a driver, go to the Support Downloads webpage for your network adapter device to download and rightclick Install>Run as Administrator which should bring up your networks to choose from. If not run Troubleshooter again, if necessary post back results.

I am not sure if you are using a wireless network or a wired, anyways, what you can do rather than just copying your systems from your old pc is just to set-up a new network so that your new OS will recognize that you have a network. Check also if the driver for your ethernet card is installed there might have been a problem or that it is not working properly. to set-up your internet connection/network, check this link, How to set up wireless connection? | Techyv.com it has a steps-by-step guide
