I'm looking forward to IE11 but will wait a few months to download and install, like I did with IE10, until the worst of the inevitable bugs have been worked out.

It is always safe waiting a little the software being improved, but in my case IE10 was crashing that much i thought i'll return to IE9 very very soon.

That's why i step forward IE to version 11 that quick!

I had problems with IE10 crashing frequently at first but, with help from folks here, was able to track it down to a conflict between IE10, WOT, and Avast's Web Rep app. Since WOT is still better than Avaat's Web Rep, I turned the Web Rep off. Problem solved.

Unfortunatly i've no add-ons with IE10 before and not using Web Of Trust & Avast.

Java helper was disable in browser and i'm using tracking list only. Got MSE instead of avast .

It is an atidxx64.dll causing those multiple crashes of my browser whenever i check in Internet Option using GPU rendering or Software.

I may plunge into it even though Developer tools has been the most change I've read about,
But yes it's always a good idea to give third party security suites a longer time to adapt to new features of especially internet explorer 9-10-11 before using it on a primary machine
Can't say I've ever had any issue with ie10 and I downloaded it asap after final release but not on both my machines until just recently/ couple of months ago without any issues so far on my 32 bit system.

I'm still using IE 9 (as my default browser, along with Chrome), haven't had any reason to upgrade to IE10 especially given the problems people have reported with it, but have just received the Windows Update option for IE11.

Is there any reason to go for it, or do people recommend sticking with IE9? My requirement is purely for the most basic of browsing functionality.

i would highly recommend updating to IE10, since Microsoft finally fixed all the bugs with it about 5 months ago, i already upgraded to IE11 the other night, but i think i am rolling back to IE10 since there are still a lot of bugs in IE11, i also have Google Chrome set as my default browser

For me IE9 was rock stable...i went to IE10 for its functionalities but bumped onto troubleshoots with it too often. I'm now with IE11 for the same reason and at the moment encountering no serious issues.

I'm one that using only one browser.

But if you intend to use another browser and time to time browsing with Internet Explorer i'll tend to tell you, stick with IE9.
