Please Help... Network Issue

Hi, I have been a BETA tester for windows 7 since the first BETA was released.
Before installing RC V.7100 my speed was fine, Since installing, i have had many connection problems, 1 or 2 connection drops in the past week and Very slow speeds from 40-60KBps. Normally my internet speeds range from 8Mbps-12Mbps and other than my PC, all the other pc's we have in the house running Vista run perfectly fine with full speeds, i testing every PC on speedtest.net and all speeds turn out to be around 10Mbps. But my laptop with windows 7 gives results of around 0.6Mbps. I tried resetting the router but obviously thats not the issue, resetting the wireless adapter, updating drivers, installing updates, rebooting, changing ip addresses, none seem to make a difference, i still get slow speeds. All PC's are wireless, so interference is no problem. What could be the issue?

Thanks

Does the vista boxes have a hard time finding the win 7 box and win 7 finding vista?
Also in win 7 program manager/networking does the network show the correct speed and when d/l what % usage?

Seems that RC 7100 has internet problems no matter what you do.
My recommendation would be upgrade.

On the network both OS' find eacother, when i transfer files from my windows 7 pc to a vista pc, the file trnsfer rate does remain withing 20-40kbps, if i were to get close to diagnostics i would say it is an issue with windows 7 as file transfers from vista to vista transfer at 60-80MBps.

In the task manager, wireless network link speed shows 18mbps although my router is 108MBps. shouldnt really mke a difference though. and the percentages are at 0 unless i refresh a page or have some network activity, the percentage will increase up to 15%

Your issue is NOT the same as his issues. His issue is within a home network, transferring files from a Vista machine to a Win 7 machine. Your issue is with general internet...
oops, my bad, thought that I was on another thread..
well, preparing to backup my data and rollback to vista :/

In the task manager, wireless network link speed shows 18mbps although my router is 108MBps.

To clear the confusion quickly, B = bytes, b = bits.

So the router is 108 Mbps and your connection is showing 18 Mbps. Your problem is simply that you are not connected at the proper speed rating to your router. Make sure the router is set to the full speed for wireless clients. Do this in your router's configuration page, usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

If you are using a D-Link router, under Wireless, look for a setting called Super G Mode. Set that to Super G Mode with Dynamic Turbo.

If there is an 802.11g Only mode, enable that.

WMM (Wireless QOS) can be turned off as well as extended range mode.
