Internet sticking

1 laptop,99 problems.
Hi my laptops internet seems to be "sticking". Basically it stops recieving internet for a few few seconds to sometimes a few minutes. I cannot scan for viruses as avast doesnt even wanna run. Any help is apreciated.

often said that the sfc is best run for three consecutive runs doesn't take long but it is your choice.

Try browsing with Opera, with ad-blocking turned on. You may have some long running scripts running in the background which are slowing things down.

Another option is to browse with Firefox, with the NoScript add-in installed. Once you have installed NoScript, you'll need to allow necessary scripts to run, while blocking all others. There is a button in the bottom right of the screen; if you click on this button, you can choose to allow, temporarily allow, or block, scripts which are trying to run at that time. My approach is to block as much as possible, allowing only the minimum to run. Be patient, it takes a while to get NoScript fine-tuned properly. But once it is fine tuned, you will browse the web a lot faster.

Opera with ad-blocking is almost as fast as Firefox/NoScript

Yep well if you wnat to use another browser then try Cyberfox https://cyberfox.8pecxstudios.com/ it I am finding knocks spots off Chrome. FF (from which I think it is derived) Edge and IE and I use Ad Block Plus on all my machines.
