When cleaning up the case and PSU fans on reassembly cover the openings with some sheer curtain material - old coarse pantyhose, net curtaining or Organza will also do.
The front case fan is done exactly as th PSU one in the pics.

I used the pantyhose ghetto mod with my previous case.

I had speaker mesh on the front intake fan and the gusset(crotch) on my side intake panel. (It had 4 120mms) and the leg sections on the bottom to cover the PSU and bottom intake fan.

Depending on thickness, it can reduce airflow a bit, but it's amazing how well it worked.


Another protip is blu-tack.

I've used it for cable management, positioning internal fans where fans don't normally go, keeping UV cathodes in place etc.

A couple of more of my wrinkles.

Lost a screw or want to put one in a difficult spot and keep your ferrous based screws in a non spill spot?

Get a prospecting rare earth magnet (you can find these on Ebay) attach to the handle end of a long (or short one if the screw won't stay on the the tip) screwdriver and put it as close to the handle as possible now the screwdriver becomes very magnetised and will hold the screw VERY firmly until engaged in the female thread.

You don't need to keep the magnet permanently attached, You can use the magnet to magnetize or demagnetize the screwdriver itself:

Dropped a screw into the machine and don't want to up - end the thing to shake it out (but can see it and cannot get it with long nosed pliers or those long artery forceps - magnet on screwdriver problem solved.

Buy an automotive magnetic pickup from Harbor Freight, or somewhere similar. It has the advantage of a telescopic handle, so you can reach most anywhere.

Every time I wire a case, there are always places you need a tie down but there is not one available. So, I've found the solution. These come in white, but a can of black spray paint fixes that and they are not even noticable. They have an adhesive backing and you just stick it on wherever you want and run a cable tie through it. And they stick good if you get the 1" ones. They make them smaller, but those won't stay stuck, the 1" ones, you'll have to pry off to remove it.
