I'm not quite sure how this keeps happening, something to do with explorer.exe I presume. But my icons keep going invisible and some just go blank, as in just white. Example below:

Also my favourite links when I open up explorer.exe are gone, just seems to be constantly trying to load but never completes :sarc:

have you tried running system file checker?

open an elevated command prompt and type 'sfc /SCANNOW' and hit enter.

File checker brings up nothing wrong and already tried the thumbnail cache. It happens after the computer has been on a while, a reboot will fix it but I really can't be bothered with that any more. It's more annoying that anything really.

Hmm... What's the ETA on the RTM? Could maybe wipe the whole drive and install the RC for now again, hope that fixes the problem. Apart from this problem it's all been great.

I also got this problem with my Windows 7 x32.
In my case, the thumbnails stay blank after system reboot. I also cant change the desktop wallpaper, I only can change it with solid color only.
I have this problem twice, the first time I do a clean install to fix it....
The thumbnails will appear if I cycle the folder view, but it return to blank when I explore there again.
I am using Windows 7 build 7201 (clean install).
I have scanned my system with Spybot - Search & Destroy and it didn't find any problem.
I have KIS 2009 installed, is there any compatibility issues with KIS 2009 on Windows 7?

KIS 2009 is your problem, had it myself a couple of times when trying different antivirus programs for Win7.
To be honest with all the build changes, one minute one antivirus will work, then it wont. I have found of late the most reliable is Microsoft Security Essentials. Before that Avast was also reliable.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response :)

Sigh, so that what cause this problem...
So I'll have to find another Anti virus then, I'll try the Ms Security Essentials now.
So, if this problem already occured, the only way to fix it is by reinstall Windows? I have unistalled KIS 2009 and this problem still exist

It seems that I'll have to do fresh format again to get rid of this problem
I'm downloading build 7264 right now and I will report here tomorrow for the result :)
I'm gonna try the Technical Preview of KAV this time
