I am running Win 7 Pro on a Dell Latitude E5410 with all updates; Kaspersky & Malwarebytes showing clear.

I have a dvd disc loaned to me by a close friend which contains a wedding video. On first viewing the video opened and I watched for perhaps 5 minutes before an unexpected visitor required me to close down. An hour later, and I could not open the disc. Looking at it in Explorer showed that the disc was empty; looking at it in Recuva showed only one file - the mp4 video - listed as 'present and not deleted'.

Switching to a computer running XP the disc runs and the video can be watched without any difficulty. Back on Win 7, looking at the reader in Device Manager shows no problem, and other video discs can be run quite happily.

Can anyone help out here? This promises to be quite embarrassing.

Added:

Using system commands diskpart, list volume, etc, - examination of the discontents shows the message ‘the disc structure is corrupted and unreadable’. So how can it be read and opened in Windows XP?

I would just copy MP4 file to hardrive (under XP) and watch it from there, or burn to another disc, instead of wasting time, trying to figure it out. Probably few important bytes are hard to read and cause all the problems.
