Has anyone dealt with IOBIT Premium services? A few years ago I got caught up in Iyogi and will not go down that road again. Frankly, in calling IOBIT it sounded a lot like the same sales pitch, but thank goodness I didn't have to have him repeat himself 5 times. The service is in Houston.

I just have to face that I need some support. I love this forum and it has helped me out a lot, but I am just spending too much productivity time trying to stay ahead of the game.

Right now my machine runs like a prime candidate for PCMatic, But I don't really trust them. Any scan I run or monitor that I run says everything is fine, but it is not.

I am about ready to wipe everything and start over, but I hate to do that. Any support services suggestions would be appreciated.

I am not a fan of prpgrams like PC Matic, or any other such products. They promise much but deliver little. They are quite good an detecting registry errors that are of little or no consequence but not very useful with real problems. I wouldn't use such a program if it was free.

I tend to agree. I am just swamped with work and hate to spend time troubleshooting every day. That is why I am contemplating wiping everything and starting over. But then who's to say it won't come back again in short order.

I have done full system scans with Malwarebytes, Norton 360, and Iobit Maware fighter. They all say everything is peachy, but it is definitely not.

This machine should be a screamer, but it dog slow and none of the big three web browsers perform worth a hoot. Chrome works the best, but freezes the whole computer when I exit it. Just too many little problems to explain accurately.

Thank you so much Layback Bear!
Just a little history. The machine was running pretty well, but I started getting BSOD's which the guys over in BSOD section helped me pinpoint the cause, and also suggested I get rid of my IOBIT products as well as Norton and keep it simple with just MSE and MalwareBytes. I followed those instructions, but since then the machine has been very slow especially when in Windows Explorer and any browser. In a bit of desperation I re-installed IOBIT and Norton.

Perhaps the best thing to do now is remove IOBIT and Norton Products and go from there.

When you remove IOBIT and Nortons please use their online removal tools. You will probably find the sites in your thread with the people over at BSOD.
Remember that the help you got in the BSOD Thread and me shared the information about these two programs did it to help you. I would recommend believing us. We mean you no harm.
Keep this in mind; when you remove IOBIT their still might be damage left behind. Many have had to do a clean install to get things fix. Hopefully a sfc /scannow will fix things. If you choose to use this please read and understand the instructions.

Oh, I have come to trust you good folks very much, and appreciate the help. It was in a bit of a panic that I re-installed those products. In fact I have wondered if there is a way I can support the site since I doubt I will ever be of much help to anyone. I am always on the receiving end.

Thanks again, Rich

Thanks for the encouragement LB! I have gained a lot of speed by removing my Advanced System Care and Norton 360. What is your opinion of IObit Malware Fighter? Worth keeping or chuck that too? I have MalwareBytes Pro And MSE going. Good enough?

Now to search for solutions to my browser problems.

Keep nothing IOBIT is my suggestion!!

Did you do the sfc /scannow?

In my opinion PCMatic is another program that talks a lot and does nothing good and may cause problems.
PCMatic is like a Ronco product as see on T.V.

OK I got my System info entered. I have to say that SevenForums have come up some great tools.I was going to ask about the SFC/Scannow. After reading the warning I wondered if I had changed any system files by intalling Windows to utilize one hard disk for the OS and all user files on another hard drive. I didn't want ot run it until I made sure I wouldn't screw that up. I would suppose that all system files are on the OS drive, but I wanted to make sure.
As for Browser problems, IE is totally un-predictable. Paste address in the address bar and it just sits there.Click on a link and may work or go blank and then pop up with a refresh. Also it may or may not open a new window rather than a new tab. I gave up on Firefox a long tie ago as it had so many hoops to jump through to sync your bookmarks and had poor support.
Chrome works by far the best, but seems to slow down the longer it is open. Then when you shut it down after it has been up for a while, it freezes the computer for 5 to 10 minutes. At first I thought it totally locked up, but then I left for a while and found when I got back it had unlocked.
After 86ing the IOBIT and Norton products my speed picked up a lot.

Oh, one other thing i was going to mention was that when I went to device manager to retrieve some info, I got the screen that I attached. The thing that was really bothersome was that it reduced to the root and then expanded again every 2-3 seconds. I have tried to figure out what USB devices need drivers but haven't been able to.

System Files have to be with the Operating system or it wouldn't work. Like the warning says; if you have changed the system files then sfc scannow will revert them back to default.
You could make a restore point before doing the the scan. If you don't like the change go back to the restore point.
My concern was that IOBIT and other programs you had could of changed system files. It's your call.
As far as I know your other drives with things like user accounts won't be bothered. I have never tried it with a setup like you have. But you can wait for others to reply for insurance.

The things I recommend or suggest are the things that I would do if it was my computer.
To me Windows 7 system files must be correct first or nothing will work correctly.
The next thing is the computer must be free of infections or browser unwanted add ons.
I'm thinking on the rest.

What do you have plugged into your USB ports or what was plugged into the USB ports.

I ran SFC/Scannow without any problems and it found no problems with the system files.

The only things I currently have plugged into my USB ports are the dongle for the mouse and my keyboard. On the front panel I have used various flash drives and my cel phone. All have gone the driver load process and work very well.

I have learned, sometimes the hard way, to trust anything suggested by someone of your status and I do appreciate all of your help.

I'm thinking those things that are under (other devices) are things that at one time were installed. Can you right tick on them and select properties and get results? If you find out what they are you can decide to keep or remove.
I recommend keep all unnecessary thing unplugged from your computer until things are fixed. (phones, printers, card readers, ect.)
I have no such things so I can't test.
Page down to USB controller and see if you have any problems there.
Now my next step would be checking for a clean computer.
Your browser problem could be Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP) or browser Hijackers.
I got a feeling you have lots of them and possible infections.
To keep things moving smoothly I would suggest using this part of the Forum to check for PUP and other bad things. Until we know you have a clean computer every thing else is in vain. Inform the good people there of this Thread it could help them.

System Security - Windows 7 Help Forums

Please make sure you try my suggestions from a admin account.

**To make sure where your computer stands now.
1. Have you removed all programs as suggested?
2. What security programs do you have installed at this time?

PS: No I'm not running away. My beliefs are that when dealing with security problems the preferred method on this Forum is sending posters to the Security Thread.

I can right click on them and made the executive decision to just uninstall them. That got rid of all of them until I rebooted and the 2 USB Controller ones came back. I right clicked again and looked through the properties and only found one bit of information other than that on the main screen. Location: PCI bus 3. device 0. function 0 & PCI bus 5. device 0. function 0. The screen is still flashing.
I have run the FSC/Scannow, a full system scan with both MSE and MalwareBytes and all showed everything was good.
The only securtiy I have in place now are MSE and MalwareBytes.

Thanks for the link Nommy! It took me no longer than to see "china" to make feel better about having uninstalled all of their products.
