Is it correct to connect the cable to modem without splitter

Hi, I am having a telephone next room and modem and pc, in a room. Now i connect the telephone outer wire,(wire from the company) to a rosette box and from the one RJ11 jack, i connect the wire directly to the phone jack of the wifi modem, dlink 2730 U new model. From the other RJ11 jack, i connect to a splitter and from , the phone jack of the splitter , direct to the Telephone in the other room.
The splitter is used to filter the sound , to get a fine tuning of sound in telephone.
My query Is as follows:
Is it correct that i directly connect the wire directly to the modem without the splitter?
My second query is , is the splitter differ from phone filter

By splitter, do you mean a supplied splitter saying Phone on one output and DSL on the other or a standard phone splitter?
Phone uses the outer pair of wires and DSL uses the inner pair of wires in a standard phone cord.

Hi, Bill Thanks but could you please elaborate on phone splitter. I have not heard. I only have a splitter provided by the router manufacturer, which has two jack rj11jacks one for modem and one for telephone and on the other end, the line, which is the outer wire.
Just two lines (copper wires in the form of a cable wire,are coming to my wall jack, from where the connection is made. If possible, i will draw a figure for ready reference. What is phone splitter? Is there a separate one? i asked the shops, and they only have the splitter type i mentioned. please

Connect the outside wire directly to the input of the supplied splitter. Connect the modem/router to the modem output. Connect anything else you wish to connect to the other output of the supplied splitter.
The splitter separates the four wires of the RJ11 plug so that the modem/router uses the two inside wires red/black in USA and the other equipment uses the two outside wires in the RJ11 jack green/yellow in US. If it is a good splitter it also filters phone interference from the DSL line.

In the UK dsl is done with only two wires for internet and phone as the signals are different frequencies no need for four wires splitter are only to reduce noise on the phone and are not needed on most modern phones

Hi, Samuria, and bill, I think the connection of cable is different for different countries i suppose.
But I pointed at a two line copper wire in my post, as the outer or line wire in my connection.
My query is whether i could directly connect the line wire to modem. The splitter i use to filter the sound in telephone. If i remove it, Hi, Samuria, the sound is like broadcasting sound.

What is the difference between splitter and filter.
Is any filter as such is available to filter noise in kinds of older model like the one i have now.Mine is beetel receiver.
Is the connection of direct line to modem correct? That is the main query.
