Is it possible to install Windows 7 on a Windows 8 computer?

If this doesn't work and I upgrade to pro, would I then be able to downgrade to windows 7 and dual boot both 8 pro and 7 pro?

You've lost me. What is this backup plan you're proposing?

We don't accept failed installs as some mystery of the universe. We have never had an install fail to complete where the user worked with us in tens of thousands we've helped with here.

This is the forums where most of the fixes and workarounds for WIn7 were developed. MS Forums haven't even caught up with most of them.

Oh my friend I don't plan on this failing I just want to know if that is possible or if plan B is an option, unfortunately I have 2 day until I leave for vacation and I wanted windows 7 on here before then and I have been messing with this since yesterday.

What is happening when you boot the flash stick now?

So you downloaded a new ISO for your version, moved the file as shown in Option 2 Step 11 in UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows?

Double check that the file now appears exactly as Saltgrass says in this link i provided. This is what hung me up on a 64 bit Win7 UEFI install with similar errors.

Yes I redone the process again to be sure I done it correctly but no dice. It has to be something small that I am missing.

Ok now I restarted it and this error occurred

1) Reboot & do not press enter at dual boot screen.
2) Bad installer.
3) Secure Boot is ENABLED.
4) Try booting the Windows 7 x64 DVD to install.

Ok if I dont hit enter it just sets at the boot screen and says setup or windows 8

Triple check you have Secure Boot, Legacy BIOS and CSM disabled.

I'd try again with a new ISO but this time write it to stick using UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive which always works. Be sure to format first using button provided. Make the file edit. See if it works better.

Anyone you can borrow a DVD drive from?

You can also make your Recovery disks, save a Win7 backup image then Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7

Well is there any thing esle I can try?

I have windows 8 preinstalled, I already shrank the 1tb drive too add a 450gb partition, I believe I followed every step in the turorials provided, the hard drive still has all of the partitions that it came with.

When im trying too boot into the Windows 7 insalation from the UEFI flash drive it says I am missing the files that I listed in a previous post.

I tried everthing. I have read and tried everything that has been provided in this forum. Should I try to move the iso files to the usb drive with a different approach? I tried windows 7 tool I tried mounting the iso and moving the files, I tried extracting them with 7zip and I keep geeting the 27 errors on all there windows 7 iso's. Previous to doing step 11 I was able to make it into setup but could not insall to any partition. Now that I can select the UEFI usb I continuously get the missing file error.

I am also creating the flash drive in windows 8 should I use windows 7?
