is it possible to make a F10 or similar backup of my current OS?

Hey,

I hope that this is not a silly question however can I ask if its possibly to make a F10 backup of my current drive so that should something go "pear shaped" then the option to restore my PC would be there.

There is currently a hidden partition on my laptop with recovery software on it however as I resised the partition on the C drive this somehow "broke" the recovery software and is apparently a well know issue with Lenovo and their onekey recovery software.

anyone offer some help please?

I have no idea what an "F10 backup" is.

You can make an image of your existing system partitions and restore that image as necessary in case of pear-shapedness.

You can do that with tools built into Windows, or you can use third party tools from someone like Acronis or Macrium. Macrium is probably the easiest to use and is well-regarded.

Its a very good question, and an important one too. You can use free Macrium Reflect to image your current installation and save that to an external USB drive. If something did "break", you can restore that image back to your PC. The principle is exactly the same as a recovery partition. Its very easy too. Refer to this tutorial on how to do that:
