Don't really think a question as simple as this deserves its own thread, but, kinda had to do it since my searches managed to bring up mixed results from "yeah" to "no your computer will literally self-destruct lmao"

I think a manual update to Internet Explorer 11 I did some time ago started to mess up my internet ( way more info here Random "ping spikes/connection resetting" on computer's end, not route ), and after trying several steps, my next one is to maybe just try removing all updates and see if that solves the weird stability issues I've been getting.

Only problem is, I tried removing all updates related to Internet Explorer 11 (that i was at least told of) before, and, well, some weird stuff happened after resetting. Namely, when booting, just a single "busy" spinner that happened for a while before the computer rebooted itself back to normal, so I'm kinda concerned that if I just drop every single update I've got, I'll be out of a computer.
So... is it safe?

You could try a repair install. It transfers the programs and settings but not the updates.

Backup the activation with dism++ first .

Repair Install

Hi,

There are very few updates, i actually expect 0, that are ONLY TOTALLY IE11..... so its not a good idea to go that route
SIW2 has given you the best option, i would however add a few caviates.

DO it offline
Turn OFF IE11, beforehand ... via programs & features

updating ie11 should not affect your internet, internet options settings could, via control panel. i suspect something else is going on, so run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r

Thanks for answering guys, I managed to fix my very specific internet problem (through just disabling IPv6... kinda pissed me off how simple it was), but I did learn a lotta great things here. Gonna mark this as solved.
