I have 4 GB of RAM. Paging eats hard disk. Currently it occupies 4090 MB. I want to know should it will be safe to turn off or leave it?

You likely won't have trouble, but you might run into an app that expects it to be there, regardless of how much physical RAM you have. With as cheap as hard drive space is, I wouldn't be very concerned with 4GB of space being used. If you are on an SSD and are concerned greatly with disk usage, you could override Windows and set a smaller page file (512MB-2048MB) since you have adequate RAM for your needs.

I have about 160 GB of free hard disk space. I have plenty of space so I think to leave it.

Thanks, for you information.:)

If you have a BSOD crash you will need a certain amount of page files for the dump files....otherwise it might be very difficult to find the cause......
