I just want to make sure it doesn't delete anything off the OS...

About the only things I lose after cleaning are some sign in cookies in IE.

The reg cleaner is working well in Windows 7 and so is the file cleaner.

As stated above it's pretty safe. They have it working pretty good. The registry cleaner (from what i've read) isn't really going to give you noticeable performance enhancements with todays OSs. Back in Windows 95 and 98 it did...but I wouldn't even bother with the registry cleaner unless you are an expert. It's not going to give you much performance gain.

Yes, ccleaner can be used in W7, one thing id be aware of, watch what the registry cleaner deletes, ive made this mistake 3 times now :(, for some reason, after runnning reg cleaner, on next boot up, its loads to the windows animation, then after that, it just has mouse on the screen, and it cant b fixed with recovery.

My advice, use ccleaner by all means, just be aware of the registry cleaner, ive just steered clear from using it, just to be safe.

Enzo.

Yes absolutely, ccleaner is the only app of this sort that I trust. Make sure you go through all the settings and untick anything you want to keep.

I use CCleaner without problems on 7100. Another excellent, thorough and reliable registry cleaner that I use(d) all the time (most aggressive settings) without fail on all the builds is JV16 Powertools. Highly recommended.

Why are you using registry cleaners on an OS you couldnt have had for even a month. If you do need it, stay away from computers and learn to manage one.

What are you talking about? That's a rather ignorant viewpoint.

I don't feel like arguing, but when you install and remove apps to try them out, test them or simply decide you don't want something any longer...using the correct removal procedure still leaves behind stuff in the registry most of the time.

I've already fixed apps that were broken and not allowed to re-install by cleaning the registry first.

Then there's always the "most recently used" stuff. Plain and simple. Anyone that uses a pc can benefit from cleaning their registry regularly, no matter how they use it.

it looks cool, but it's looks like not free too. is it?

No, it isn't fee unfortunately. I use it, think it's great so I figured to pass the word on. No affiliations heh heh.

That's just as not cool as what he did - why lower yourself to the same level by reacting that harshly?

It works perfectly fine with RTM ( all versions ) I currently use it every now and then, and have no problems to report.

Yep,, Registry Cleaners are pushed too hard as a Cure All.
They are not, never have been and never will be.

But, the best way to learn is by living. So, use them with caution, but don't be surprised when one day it hoses up and you have to nuke and reload.
