Solved Is it true with Haswell CPU you need a haswell ready PSU

I have heard people saying you need a Haswell Ready PSU or are people blowing it out of Proportion

Reason i ask is i know Jake Sh*& about intel including Haswell

It is true. The Haswell platform introduced two new C states, C6 and C7 which allow the PC to sleep on about 0.05A and the PSU has to be able to recognize it otherwise it will shut down thinking the board has no power at all.
Most good, well built PSUs are fine. I also disabled all the C states.

By the way, I don't even know what a C State is. :o

Like Gary said, most well built, decent power supplies support the Haswell architecture. Also, quite a few PSU's that are Haswell compatible will say so in the description. If you need a recommendation, just let us know.

Intel ACPI Guide - C/G/S/P states and OCs

C-States are advanced CPU current lowering technologies. These are configured in the BIOS and are automatically used by the OS.
