Is my PC protected enough? What AV software combo do you use?

I just built my first PC, installed Windows 7 and was just curious what protection should I have installed on my machine? What is the best Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Anti Spyware combo? I'm currently using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium & Microsoft Security Essentials. I'd like good protection but minimal resources being used in the process, if possible.

Any suggestions, recommendations, comments? What antivirus combo do you have on your desktop, if any? Also, I was curious if there are any other recommend applications for a newly built PC? Novice here so I appreciate any help.

MSE and Malwarebytes is plenty, especially if you're not putting your PC at risk by visiting questionable websites, downloading questionable files, and opening questionable e-mails, did I mention questionable? lol

I personally use AVG, Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, and SpyBot Search & Destroy, simply to have a full range of options if I feel something is there. I actually quite prefer SpyBot over any of them, as it has found things on several occasions that the others haven't, but that's just me!

As long as you use common sense and careful about what you click on, you shouldn't have to worry, so just enjoy your computer and use it wisely!

Does me fine, had a nasty about 12 months or so ago when I had AVG (paid) on that did nothing to help (the virus turned all files into .exe) MSE was the only thing that found the problem, so now that is what I use.

It's been the worst day since yesterday (thanks Flogging Molly) so apt!
What you have is as good as any. But don't expect a 100% protection. That's not in the cards with Windows.

A much better protection is if you go on the web with a Linux Virtual machine. E.g. this one.
