Is OC Genie II from MSI dangerous?

Hi!I want to know if OC Genie II from MSI is dangerous because i activated it, but it doesn't make a big difference.You can check my rig if you want more info.

Your best bet would be to monitor the CPU voltage with CPU-Z and check the temps with your monitoring app of choice.

Most auto overclocking software tends to be overly generous when it comes to ramping up voltages.

In that regard, it can be dangerous. MSI's OC genie has been a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to results. Some users have it push their systems to far and have become unstable. others have seen the cpu voltage being pushed past safe levels etc

IMHO software based OC's is dangerous with cpu's, seems to work OK with gpu's. Use the BIOS, start small, go slow and monitor temps.

Like madcratebuilder is pointing out using overclocking software is a bit dangerous, doing it by the bios is safer and not that much harder. So yeah you can overclock with the software and yes it will be stable but most likely your cpu gets to much voltage which is not good in the long run

OC Genie is just a simple OC. It`s garbage, I removed my MSI G45 because it was a garbage board for OC.
