Currently running vista 64 bit, and I would like to upgrade to win 7 64 bit. But the only 64 bit versions I can find are system builder OEM packed.

Is there actually a 64 bit vista to 64 bit win 7 upgrade available?

Yes there is for whatever version of vista you have. Full retail like everything else goes into the wild on 10/22.

Any of the "normal" things you buy are supposed to contain both 32-bit and 64-bit discs.

It's only when you start looking at "special" things like OEM discs or student upgrade discounts that 32-bit or 64-bit architecture gets specified.

You should be able to buy whatever upgrade discs you want.

The upgrade will be avaliable on the 22nd.

If you can at all avoid it though, I would perform a clean installation. If you are already running Vista, you can purchase an upgrade copy of Windows 7, and perform a clean installation from this - so long as it is able to detect your existing window installation.
