Qudos hope your getting better. I must say though after having 2 knee surgeries I never had anything close to the amount of bruising of discoloration you show, really not hardly any at all. From the bandage it appears to have been arthroscopic right? They must have gotten pretty busy and heavy handed to cause that. Personally it would have really concerned me. As long as your getting better then that's what matters but wow. Good luck take it slow and rehab that baby good. Best of luck. Fabe

Yeah... not... I think I was all of 16 years old and that it was an RD250... hardly your typical Hells Angels Harley or Bonneville...

It was a haemmorage and it must have been bleeding into the leg tissues for about a week, probably a good couple of pints of blood were lost, but all the bruising is clearing up now... and it's now 18 days post surgery... and yes, it was a keyhole entry, so I have four separate entry incisions of about 2cm each, which were stapled and plastered closed...

Whilst I was coming around the surgeon came to explain that my knee was incredibly tight, and that the cartilege damage was at the rear, and that they had to use 'considerable force' to 'dislocate' the joint to gain access... but the nurses on the recovery ward were so excited about their Christmas party that same day that I was shown out the door within two hours of coming off the slab...

Still painful, can't yet walk on it without crutches, or it swells right up... but was told to expect to need the crutches for six weeks... but heh, I have every confidence I won't experience the knee knocking and crunching like it was before...

Well I wish you the best of luck. My first one was from a fall from the top of Mammoth Mountain snow skiing. Had my bindings a little to tight. Went well. the second was from my fall from the scafold breaking 28ft up, this time they said their wasn't much cartilage left to scrape and had to reattach some ligaments. That one well lets say the knee isn't very stable. So I feel your pain. My advise take it really slow give it all the time it needs no reason to push things till the time is right.
