Is there a way to test you On-Demand protection?

I was wondering if there was a way to test your on demand protection for your anti-virus. Sort of like a leaktest for firewalls, but for your anti-virus...or is this too dangerous as you basically have to download a file that is a virus in order to test this?

Hi there, the best way to test your AV is to download virus files from Malwarebytes Forum and then execute it to see if your AV catches it. But since it may prove fatal, I'd strongly recommend you to 1st install Shadow Defender - the easiest PC/laptop security and privacy protection tool and then run your C drive in shadow mode so that whatever changes you make or whatever harm the virus causes, a quick feboot and you are back to normal.

Would not suggest testing your home pc against these sort of tests. If you do wish to test , please image your machine for restoration purposes.

Hallo Shortmantuff, I have not heard of any other than exposing your PC to the real thing.
If you think your computer has been breached disable your AV & run an online scan like Eset or Kaspersky

Have you tried 'Shields Up'? They can test your security to show you where you have weaknesses.

Easier solution? Use a VM! VirtualBox is free and you can test AV programs and their ability to stop malware without worry of infecting the host OS.

Just use a virtual solution and do your testing on a VM. That's much easier!
