Solved is this case any good?

Next weekend I am planning to get a new case for my pc
I will spend to a limit of 60 pounds
At the moment I seem to quite like this one and I just wondered if it was any good

EDIT: ok, now the page shows.. Um, well.. it's an OK case, personally i don't like it but it seems like it has some sort of airflow going on, and it'll fit your computer parts without any problems.

I like the Antec 300 the most. it's a simple case, not too much decoration, i like things simple and with the right cable management, and some fans you'll get a really nice airflow inside, keeping your parts cool

Hey Ash30000,

I kinda like the look of that “turbine” on the front.

When I’m shopping for a case I write down what I’m looking for in regards to how functional it is first.

-Does it have front panel ports
-Can you fit large video cards
-What size motherboard will it accept
-How many drive bays does it have
-How well is the cooling
-Is it tool less
-Cable management
-Does it have dust filters

From there I set a budget then look for the best looking one that fits my needs. Also keep in mind that your case should be the most future proof component in your system. You don’t want to be upgrading a component down the road such as a video card only to find that you need a new case because it won’t fit! Also keep in mind the new interfaces such as eSATA and USB 3.0. In the coming months you will start to see more and more storage devices using USB 3 or eSATA. And reaching around the back of a case just to plug in a USB 3 thumb drive will be a royal pain in the ***!

Depends on where you put the computer. Place it on your desk and it will be the perfect place for ports. Have it on the floor and yes, it could pose a problem.

dont waste your money on that generic rubbish

get a antec 100 or 300

the 100 is better and newer but the 300 is still great if you cant source the 100

Also have a look at cases that are just outside your budget. You just may find something that fits all your requirements that may be only 10 to 15 pound more.

Antec, Zalman, Cooler Master, Thermaltake all make great cases that should be within your budget. Have a look and post back your findings!

After a lot of thinking I have decided to leave it for now and in the near future I will het the corsiar obsidian 800D
I have decided to go for this because I want to leave plenty of room for new components.
When I get the case I will post some pics onto this thread so keep watching!
Please post your views and I know it is a big leap in size and price.

Hey Ash.

The Corsair Obsidian 800D is a great case, for sure, but it's really pricey.. if you need lots of rooms, i'd suggest a Cooler Master HAF X, here:

It's almost 100 pounds cheaper and it's still a very high quality Case, and you could use the 100 pounds on another component, maybe a SSD or another of your choice take a look at it

Great choice on the Obsidian…one of the best cases out there in my opinion.

As Punkster mentioned, the HAF X is another great case if you don’t mind the aggressive looks (compared to the Obsidian). The Obsidian was at the top of my list when I was recently shopping for a new case. But a local store had the HAF X on sale and the price was just too good to pass up.

Now that you’ve set a more flexible budget, you have so much more to choose from. Take your time and feel free to ask for advice. In the meantime…check out the Thermaltake level 10. $800.00!!!! Level 10 Now that is extreme!!

Yes, the HAF-X is a great consideration as it will save you a fair amount of money and still offer the space and features of the Corsair 800D. Also, consider some of the other high quality cases like the Corsair 600T. It offers lots of high end features, but in a mid size case. I went with a larger case then normal this last time (Antec P182) and in the end, it is really just too big. I wish that it was smaller in size.

That Corsair 650D looks pretty darn nice. I love the 800D, but it's way, way, way too big for me. Just saw a magazine ad for the 650D in Maximum PC and am going to do some research on it. About $200 at NewEgg.
