Is this possibly my scanner?

Everything is running fine in the rig I was just doing some weekly checks and I noticed this in the hardware section that I have highlighted. Nothing is not working except the scanner which will not work under WIN 7 - 64. Could that be the possibly what i am seeing ?

Hard to say. Why not unplug it (USB), uninstall the unknown device from Device Manager, and see what happens when you plug it in again?

If you're looking for a third-party solution to allow it to work under Win7 X64, this may be worthy of a try:

I'm not sure that it's worthwhile, unless the scanner is a particularly good one. However, you can test it for free.

Device Manager

I see mine in imaging devices in the device manager.

Get the PCI Vendor number and PCI Device numbers from Device Manager. Go to Device Manager –> Right click the unknown device –> Properties –> Details. Now from the drop down menu select Device Instance Path/ Device Instance ID.

It will give you a string value which contains the vendor ID and the Device ID. The string is like this:
HDAUDIOFUNC_02&VEN_14F1&DEV_5045&SUBSYS_103C30D5&REV_10014&2675E3A&0&0002
Where red is the Vendor ID and green is the Device ID. Note down both of them and use the following web sites to track them down.

You can also basicaly do the same thing and find the hardware id of the highlighted item by going to device manager>right click on device>properties>details tab>drop down menu>select first one "hardware id">Copy and Paste the hardware id string and we can find out the device from the hardware id string. As posted above is what it will resemble.Their may be several strings. I just find this way a little easier for some people. Not tryin to step on your toes Bill2 Fabe

I unplugged the scanner and did a refresh of the hardware and it is the scanner. Thanks for the tip now why did I not think of doing that ??? HA HA Must have been having a blond day
